In the 21st century, light takes on an increasingly important role in our society, for example: Environment-friendly solar energy, Next-generation information technology based on high speed optical communication, Ultra-high efficient lighting devices and Quantum information processing using photons.

Our objective is to control and manipulate “photon” at will, using photonic crystal or photonic nano-structures, to realize the innovative technologies which make the above mentioned applications reality. We hope our research will open up the next generation information and communication technology and also greatly contribute to the solution in global energy or environmental issues.
